Q: What sort of people can audition?
A: New or experienced Actors, Models, Singers & Dancers ages
4 & Up! If you are under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian
must attend the search with you. Even if you are 18 or over, we
recommend that you bring a family member with you to learn more
about AMTC. We have found the greatest success when a talented individual's
loved ones are involved.
Q: What should I wear and bring?
A: Dress in neat and casual clothes– no blue jeans or tennis
shoes. AMTC is a family-oriented event, so keep your appearance
fresh and clean. Make sure to bring a recent photo that we can keep.
It does not have to be professional: a school picture or wallet
size snapshot is perfect.
Models: Keep your hair and makeup (if worn)
very natural. You will be asked to walk for our Scout. No special
skill is required. We are looking at your personality and appearance.
Actors: You can prepare your own 30 second monologue
or we will have short scripts available at the audition.
Singers: Must sing a one-minute song a capella
(without accompaniment).
Dancers: Come dressed in casual dancing gear.
Bring a one-minute CD. Please note: this audition is strictly
G Rated. Please make sure anything you prepare is appropriate
for families.
Q: How long will the audition process last?
A: Approximately two hours, depending on the size of the group.
Q: Can I audition for more than one category?
A: Yes if time allows. However, if time and space is limited you
may be asked to choose your primary area of interest.
Q: How do I schedule my audition time?
A: You may either look at the Upcoming Audition page on this site,
pick a time and city, and submit a request through the Register
page, or call 1-800-STAR-420 and speak with one
of our friendly operators!
